Seems like the app does not recognize the installed location on your device
here is the instructions:
1. Extract downloaded files to some location on your PC
2. rename app folder from “i_G_O_8″ to “iGO8″
3. change install location in sys.txt as said above
4. copy app folder to /My Storage on your Omnia
5. change screen to landscape mode
6. run iGO8.exe

Australia & New Zealand map is available but it does not compatible with this version of iGO (the newest australia map is “Australia R15″ which only work with iGO 8.0x not 8.3x).
Sorry for the news. Hope R16 will out soon.

Try deleting “sys.txt” and then run the app. This force iGO to detect all device settings itself & it should solve auto shutdown problem.
*dont forget to backup the file

I’ve downloaded and installed the iGO8 to My Storage - the program is running smooth in Greek and I have no clue how to change it to english
- not even sure if there is an english language file present ?

I downloaded the full program, unziped, and renamed the folder to iGO8. Then I removed the original 1Gb sd card (that one that comes in the omnia package), and putted a brand new one of 8Gb. (tested, omnia recognizes it).
Ok, I transferred the entire iGO8 folder to my external 8Gb memory card, and then i clicked on the Igo8.exe (the one with 6.9Mb i believe).
After that… an ERROR image appears and says: ” Error: Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card”.
What shall I do??…

This only has the Greek language and the Greek voice, I got the other languages from the site mentioned above but it’s 1.9GB and takes a while to download. Then I searched for the language files and the voice files and copied them (to their location) then moved the whole lot onto the staorage card vis active sync (takes ages) but it works.
Does crash if your using it and someone calls or texts you
You can change the orientation in the advanced settings
Shuts down if battery notification comes up (3% battery left), and it does drain the battery so I’m thinking of getting a car charger and stand (any reccommendations)
Brilliant product and colleage who has iphone is envious

I’m running the software on the Omnia, i910. The software loads off the microSD card no prob. However, I can’t get a GPS signal. Had no problem on the VZNavigator. The autodetect GPS settings finds a COM channel and baud rate no prob. ANyone else have this problem and/or know how to get it going?

I managed to copy/paste my English files from a previous igo8 I downloaded from torrents a few months ago.
The previous one only had UK maps, so this works well.
Now I need to try and figure out how to get TMC working!

@Perseid: The GPS on the 910 is disabled for any use other than VZNavigator. Folks at MoDaCo.com have been trying to hack it, but no joy so far.
Verizon has promised to unlock the GPS on the 910 with a software update in the first quarter of 2009. We’ll see if it actually happens.
For now, you need an external BlueTooth GPS reciever to use any thirdparty nav software.

It needed to download again through Torrent from “weps”’s link.
only thing you needs file that English voice and language files
Haven’t checked yet which igo8 installation file was latest one. but i am sure

Can anyone post up the usa map pls.
PS to everyone on Verizon i910 there is a rom flash available to get gps working. I have i910 and us google maps and windows live and now am trying to get this igo app to work. It was super easy to do and takes about 10 minutes only down side is that blows out all your apps since its reflashing the rom. GPS works on com 8 afterwords.

I got the USA maps off the net thanks all for the app. PS the version that I have works in both portrait and landscape modes. This little app rocks. I went to a birthday party and I used this over my TomTom. I just have to find a cool mount for my i910 that will work in my car.

Scorpse haven’t you heard about how Verizon locked our GPS in US omnia phones? I got this software too it opens and look awesome, however it doesn’t lock on to a GPS signal. The good news is that there is word of Verizon issuing an upgrade sometime in the first half of 09 that will unlock the GPS.

Do you have any POI’s (points of interest) stored yet? Have you been able to change any settings yet? If not, and I suspect you haven’t, as you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this app., then just click Yes and let the app. reset to defaults. this should correct any install problems you are having. GL

BC, the link you gave doesn’t have iGO for the Omnia (eg it doesn’t have the Omnia screen resolution data files). It just has a PNA version. Also, the voice is in Russian.

This is the best navigation app. My only question is about these 3D map views. In the demo video it shows the map showing 3D buildings and stuff and it looks cool….
Is it only like really important buildings that it shows??? Because the video looks like there is buildings all around. When I use this I havent seen ONE building yet….i dunno if its my location but i live in NEW YORK and there are buildings everywhere.

Can anyone here help me get the TTS working on this program? I downloaded all the TTS files and DLL files and put them in the correct directory but when I select the voice in the regional settings I don’t hear anything.
I even added lines to the sys.txt file that I was told to put by all the tutorials on the internet.
I CANNOT GET IT TO WORK! It’s really annoying because I want the street names announced. This is the only thing that’s stopping iGo8 from being perfect.

Nevermind. I got it to work! So awesome it announces all the street names now.
It was because I had to re-install the iGo8.exe file so it would register the new .dlls required to use TTS that I added to the folder.
I am so happy now. My iGo8 is definitely perfect now. No other nav app beats this one!!

US maps are hard to find on NavnGo, I stated I wasnt sure, I myself gave up on it because of such few selection. I am now onto Garmin and having a hell of a time with the 5.0 version. Check IPMART i think I saw some USA maps floating around there.

I bought a Car Dvd with GPS and bluetooth,, System runs under Windows CE 5.0
Igo8 was included in package but,, doest not work because it says Cannot Execute Shell.ini …. I tried another Sd card with same software but that came in a portable gps.. Same Igo8 software… But still not work in my Car Dvd Gps 2 Din 7 inch screen.
What can i do? ,, I need to figure out where to download full software to decompress on Sd card, with Usa Canada maps. Oh yeah,, Manufacturer of DVD/Gps 7 inch screen, is not identified on box or Dvd radio. So i dont know wat type or Model number it is.. I bought thru Ebay seller in china.

I configed this iGO8 version to work for my OMNIA II 800×480 landscape mode only…
INSTRUCTIONS
-EXTRACT the .zip file
-make or copy all content into ur [b]//My Storage/iGo8[/b] directory..
then run iGo8
once u get in go to settings and change ur COM port to ur Omnias’ GPS com port,
mine was com7.
thats it..
I have took all the troubles gathering all the files needed for this to work properly.
Australian maps2009Q2 and the 3D building files are already installed.
AU english voice and language files are all included also

I’ve installed the NNG on my Omnia, it run until a message pop up:
“Fail to initialise map files. Maps file outdated.
Please contact nearest dealer.”

Hi guys,
Can someone explain to me how is possible to install iGO8 in My Storage on Omnia i900 ? It says that program requires 7292498 bytes to install..it’s 7,3 GB. My omnia has 8GB but iGo8 folder takes 1,3 GB already. So it is impossible to install on My Storage I think. Do I have to buy new memory card with 8GB space just for iGO8 ?

I must be really stupid because I cant get any gps to work on my omnia i 900. I am not very literate on how everything works, and all I want is a good gps on my phone without having to buy one. I have tried google maps and have atempted to download many others but have failed. I cant even figure out how to download this. Please wil someone give my dummy step by step directions?
