To install ringtones:

1. copy your favorite ringtone to My Storage > My Ringtones
2. go to Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications Tab
3. Select your ringtone from drop-down box

Each volume has 100 and 250 set of sounds & rings (no duplication).

You will have to paste the mp3 into the Windows folder. Then you should be able to change the messages tone.

But one more thing.
There’s no Windows folder on the “device storage”
There’s only a Windows folder in “my storage”

I assume I need to do it on the phone rather than the computer?

Sorry for the delay..

That is strange as there should be a Windows folder under “My Device” (at the same level as My Storage and Storage Card (If you have one)

And you are right, you will need to do this on the phone. (You can do it on the pc using activesync, but the mp3 should be in the windows folder on the phone.

for the messaging i mean…………..and about the missing windows folder try changing the view file it might be hidden make it “show all hidden files” (Tools > Folder Options > View)

for ringtones place them in \my storage\my ringtones and for sound notifications place what you wanna use in your windows folder. i think you can use the windows folder in my storage also so you dont take up storage memory.
