i mean the other phone book etc… does it automaticly (or something… netherlands… sorry) put all the contacts and appointments from the calendar in the shell?

but these r the serials provided in the txt file..i used them to registr the exe shell file and it workd….but aftr the cab installation on omnia….serial key was askd for…i trid all the keys…but none wrkd 4 me….i contd wthout regstratn…it said i got 15 days trail version…..and when i chekd SPBShell Settings>about it is showing registrd…..

sam, why did you used .cab file for installation?
Download from home site http://www.spbmobileshell3.com latest .exe installation file and use those serials. But first I beleave you have to uninstall it from your phone.
This is how I did it. I used only serials from here but Mobile Shell I download from program site.

can anyone can help me, i was try to install this SPD mobile shell 3 into my omnia i900, but after finish load on device showing this message ‘ installation of spd mobile shell.CAB was unsuccessful ‘ , i was try many time but still the same.

joe, try to uninstall it, then delete sbp mobile shell folder created in the program files folder. soft reset and try install from .exe installation file again.
Reply if any success.
PS:Before I flashed my Omnia with WM6.5 I was able to install sbp shell into the My Storage, but now on WM 6.5 it is installing only to the My Device.

Hi there I have Omnia . When I try to install the SPB shell I use the exe file, choose the registered ver and enter the s/n. Then I choose not installing the trials (weather/wireless). It start installing on my mobile ( I choose “my storage”) and then it stops ” Fail ” messsage after 50%.
Does anyone know what is wrong? Does anyone had success installing with Omnia?

tormois, 1st.. thx 4 ur reply, i have try to delete the folder in program file then soft reset and re-install again, but came out the same msg.
my device was WM 6.1 version and i realise when i plug in the USB cable to my destop PC, microsoft activeSync connection was fail, then i change the USB connection mode to mass storage, it work.. can read data on my storage.
maybe is the activeSync not connected so can’t transfer data, but before this im was using cable to load SPD weather & wireless, it can.. any idea to solve this, i have try many time to load it, but can’t
it’s crash my head

OK joe, try restart both PC and Omnia (I beleave u already tryed). After soft reset go to task manager and close activeSync. Connect phone and let it sync with PC. Check that you have access to the phone folders through explorer/mobile device/…
, just reflash phone with new ROM.
In activeSync go to Tools/Add-Remove Programs and check that activeSync can read info from phone. Then try to install. Try to install it to main memory not MyStorage. This is all what I can suggest. The last, if no success then it is something with phone or PC

try to reinstall from exe file but select registered version.
here is a key for Sbp weather 46123413, but you have to install it from exe not cab

U R probably trying to install Spb Weather 2.1.1
then key will be not correct that’s for sure
try to find key somewhere in net. I am not using Spb Weather, this why I do not know a key for the new version

now what i think only this weather soft, i found that my device main memory very low, only left 7mb space, after i install GARMIN, GARMIN map file very big, so i cant add in more soft into my device, even u install into my storage i believe it will tk some space on your main memory to run it work.

joe… with memory I can say only one thing. by default there are a lot of progs installed you do not need and you can not uninstall them. I flashed my Omnia to WM 6.5 and now I have installed what I need and still have 93 MB free in Main Memory.
You can try to do same if you want.

yas…., I beleave it is not a sbp ms. i don’t have such problem with my battery.
i read somewhere on forums, that it can be that your phone always trying to use 3G or smth else. this will dry your battery pretty fast. check in settings.

i checked my settings and dont see anything about my phone trying to xonnect a lot. i did reduce the freq of my mail checker and that seems to have helped a bit. thx for the response torm!

ghostalker… I am not sure how u r trying to rus SPBMBS3_setup.exe, if u r doing it on your mobile then it’s wrong. You have to connect phone to PC (ActiveSync needed) and run SPBMBS3_setup.exe on your PC. Then follow instructions.

looks like an awesome app, but how are you guys doing with battery life using this? Im currently using SPB shell 2.1.2 at the moment and i doubt that uses any more power than the original TouchWIZ menu, but SPB shell 3 looks much more graphically demanding

If yes, then ask Sbp team why you get this message. Also check settings on your phone. Try look in net, I am sure smb had this problem.

Actually Sprite Backup is here on this site

After you flash your phone with a new ROM do not merge any system data from your backup file. Only personal data (Contact, Messages). Remove checkbox for any system data, even owner info. It doesn’t work properly.
Remember, only contacts, messages and mails. nothing else.
It is possible to restore all system data only if it is same ROM used to make a backup.

Alan, the answer is no, because official release date of WM6.5 is 11-May.
I do not think they will release a WM6.5 ROM for OMNIA. Only custom ROMs will be available.

i got SPB Back Up on my devide, between SPB and sprite backup got any different, have you try SPB backup before ? as you say only back up the ( contact & message ) izit on our devide system PIM Data ?

There are so many people on this site who are blatantly stealing and should be charged. I especially get a kick out of the theives who download a ‘cracked’ application and then COMPLAIN on a PUBLIC site that their STOLEN MERCHANDISE doesn’t work properly. Screw you thieves. I hope your phones go up in smoke. As for this website, you should take some time and remove all of the posts with CRACKING instructions and legitimize this site…otherwise you risk being named as a defendant in a future piracy case.

i think its cool that we have the choice to change shells but at the same time i’m curious as to why people buy windows mobile devices and then they want a shell that basically tries to hide the fact that its a winmo phone?
why not just buy an ipod or a smartphone instead of changing the entire phone that you paid for? its like wanting a specific car and then going to a mechanic to modify it into a completely different car then you started with….like why not just buy the other car?
looking at this shell i honestly dont see the point. You have the choice between making your own main phone page, the Verizon Widgets screen, or you can do “Samsung Today” screen. I use the samsung today screen and it gives an Iphone like experience but still keeps all the coolness of winmo. I think the samsung today screen is cooler then this spb mobile shell honestly. It has everything i need simplified into icons like “Phone, internet, Music, Video, Picture, Email, TXT, Phone book and calendar.”

@ wushdishmeen - it basically just makes it a bit easier to use, things are more easily accessible than they are as a basic WinMo UI. Works for a lot of people, some will prefer without it.

Yeah i had this problem too, my phone shut down and i had to take out the battery, and then replace it to turn it back on. Scared the crap out of me cause i thought i broke my phone!!!
You’ll be able to get back to your normal Windows shell. Its pretty much just another application running on top of your normal windows, just like Word or Excel.
I’ve had some occasional problems recieveing calls using this mobile shell. Many times, my phone is vibrating because i have an incoming call, but the phone doesnt properly display the incoming call screen (and i still see the SPB mobile shell). Pressing the hardware button doesnt work either. I have to quickly click on “Show Home” in order to pick up the call.
Otherwise its awesome stuff. Makes the omnia 50 billion times easier to use. Anyone know what the beta is like?

I have an omnia 901 and downloaded from the spb website the full version of the shell, then pasted the exe into my programs folder. Every time I try to run the setup exe it gives me this message “spbmobileshell_3.0.1_setup.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application.” What should I do?

Hola a todos, mi duda es…ya pude descargar el archivo y lo instale usando active sync, y no tuve ningun problema en la instalacion mi telefono es un omnia i910, pero al hacer el soft reset solo me aparecen los programas de trial..no me aparece ningun cambio del shell, es decir ..es como si no hubiera instalado nada… sigue la misma pantalla today que tenia antes y todo es lo mismo..alguien tiene idea de lo que pasa en mi caso..o que me falta hacer despues de instalarlo?

To those of you who are experiencing instalation with errors, format your device.. This is because samsung omnia has about 102MB of RAM which fills up quickly and SPB only installs on ram so if u’re running low on ram uninstall some programs else format the device….
This totally fixed my problem!!!!

This app is pretty nice! Had ZERO issues installing it. I have Verizon Omnia w/ 6.1, and used the very first serial on this thread, and no issue so far. Slowed the phone down a bit, but I also have no additional memory!
Get it together people! Follow instructions, download it from the verified site, and stop whining!

Dave, it sure can run with PhonEx, S2U2, STP, STV Touch Pal and anyother app you throw at it. I am runing them all together, and other than having only 4MB of main memory left, everything else is great, Does anybody know of a way to free up more Main Memory or allocate the My Storage 8GB internal card to be used as the Main memory?

Spb Mobile Shell supports only Windows Mobile 5.0 or later Pocket PC devices. Devices without a touch screen (Windows Mobile for Smartphone) and older platforms such as Pocket PC 2003 are not supported. Spb Mobile Shell will not install on such devices.

and put into my storage. the first time i tried to install it, i got the ‘installation unsuccessful’ message but i tried it again and it worked! I have windows 6.1. i love this app thanks guys!

how do i get this off my phone.

and i prefere the original omnia screen
it was easyer and better. battery lasted longer and it didn’t lag.
only good thing about the shell is it looks cool.
i liked the symplisticness of the original start up screen.

to uninstall: go to SETTINGS -> SYSTEM -> REMOVE PROGRAMS. tap the spb mobile shell program then tap REMOVE. after removing, it will go to your old mobile screen.

It seems to drain the battery dry FAST. My phone now barely lasts a day (a few minutes of talk time only). It used to last a couple of days with the same condition. Otherwise beautiful UI, but if it wouldn’t last a flight with music playing via BT headset, I would have to take it out…

For those of you who are having the “install at 50% fails” issue I have a fix that should work.
This ties into what Tjoxide said.
Mobile shell needs at least 15mb of MAIN MEMORY space to install, regardless as to where you are installing it. I found opera to be the biggest memory hog. try this simple fix to clear some space. Start>Programs>File Explorer. Then make sure you are under “my device” as your root menu. then: application data>opera(opera9 in my case)>cache and then delete it all. then do the same under download.
I did this and it worked the next time I installed. (it cleared up around 25mb for me)

Hi,
Im trying to install Spb Mobile Shell 15 Day Trial on my Samsung Omnia (Vodafone Contract) but its unable to install.
The file is on my phone and near 7MB and all seems fine until i try and install it. It makes it to about a third of the way and then stops and says:
“Installation of SpbMobileShell3.arm.cab was unsuccessful.”
I cant find any way around this, anybody any ideas?

I saw this in a other comment on the SPB weather. It turned out to be the best app ever. It stops your omnia from constantly string to connect to the internet. I have mine on the 38.00 unlimited text and talk so I only want to use my WIFI. This is the best, Please pass this on. It was the final program that made my omnia PERFECT!!!!

I had the same problem with the 50% install, but after i deleted a lot of important programs, i finished it.

To the people with space problems on Main Memory, uninstall your java games and the install should work fine.

Hey folks
For those who are still having problems installing i.e installation unsuccesful always coming.
I got round this by clearing approx 28mb from the device memory.
Even though the app is only approx 11mb it seems there has to be a lot more for installation to take place.
Hope this makes sense.

Yes. SPB Mobile Shell (v2.1 / v3 / v3.5) work very well in Omnia 2 (I8000).
I am OMNIA 2 user too. If you have SPB Mobile Shell 3 registered version installed in your phone, you are free upgrade to version 3.5. Just download latest version from spbsoftwarehouse.com and install, it is registered without enter any key

I install it on my omnia and SpShell runs. I’ve not seen any code and the program doesn’t ask me to register it or any code….

go to settings/Spb Mobile Shell/ and if you see there icon “Register” then you need to enter the key. Also in the same menu you can find About. Click on it and it will show you the status (Registered or not)
Actually I think it is better to install from original file from program web site, and use keys provided here

Here’s how 1st you go to http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/mobileshell/. Then Download the Trial. and when its installed go to SBP menu tap register then enter 1 theese serials:

I REALLY NEED SOME HELP!!
So I tried to install the latest version. The installer told me it had to remove the old version first… so I let it do it’s thing. After that, the installation of the new version ua UNSUCCESSFUL.
The strange part is that the “SPB Home” button still shows up on the bottom right of the screen (like when you minimize the whole SPB Shell app), but when I tap it, an error message pops up that reads…
“The file ‘MenuLauncher’ cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it’s components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.”
I’ve tried reinstalling several times, but still won’t work. It’s like even though the installer “removed” the old version, something is still being loaded preventing the new version from being installed.
PLEASE HELP!! I miss my SPB Mobile Shell

HAHAHAHA!!!! GOT IT… and it only took me about 5 hours to figure out.
If anyone has this problem, go though and delete (or move them to a different location) any and all “SPB Mobile Shell” folders, then try the installation again.

why not upgrade to windows mobile 8.5. no shell or anything needed

Hi All, wat ever the Serial Key i tried in my Nokia V5 mobile, the shell application not getting registration successfull.
Please help me out anybody.

It’s definetely a geogeous piece of software.
I bought it for 30€ and it has been worth every cent so far.
With PhonEx and S2U2 a really good phone.
Without it the i900 is a bit clumsy in dealing with.
Anyhow the 3D carousel can be started from the main view, if you press the lower left checkered button. If it gives you a card view press the right lower button and switch to “carousel view”.
But I am having a problem myself with the upgrade to the 3.5.5 version.
It can’t be installed. clicking on the cab file it starts and tells me “installation of ….cab failed”. My free main memory is about 10 megs.
Any idea ?
Did anybody succeed to get the mirrored carousel look on the i900 so far ?
