  1. FilteredWater Says:

    Question.

If your cell phone already can access wifi, couldn’t your laptop also be able to access wifi without your cell phone with a wireless card which most laptops have?

The better app would be something that would be able to access the internet via the cell phones internet connection (i.e - data plan) where wifi is not present.

Don’t understand the need for wifi in this app.

  2. admin Says:

if you want to share the Internet connection from one cell phone to many laptops (like normal wifi access point), this app does that :)

  3. Me Says:

You connect to your cellular data plan and then other devices connect to you via wifi.

  4. jimthebard Says:

It is so you can use your phone as a router for your laptop and not need a cable. Sweeeeeet!

  5. jim Says:

does anyone know if this works for verizon? they have a habit of locking all the fun things on thier cell phones. im buying an omnia next week and was wondering if this will work on it?

  6. mike Says:

yes jim, i have an omnia on verizon and have used this, smartphones are quite a bit more open than a normal verizon phone

  7. Steve Says:

Mike, while using this program, is Verizon still able to track your data usage? I’d sure like to use this program.

    Steve

  8. LocalBus Says:

    Any luck for version 1.25 ? Thanks…

  9. robert Says:

hi guys trid using it and i could only get it to work in 3g/usb mode which is exactle the same as internet sharing

any tips on how i cold make the other settings work?

    3g-wifi and 3g blutooth?

  10. Anonymous Says:

Do you have to pay for the extra internet “tethering option” from Verizon? Or will it work with a regular data package?

  11. Anonymous Says:

Verizon has two different Internet options: One is “Mobile Web” which is used for older phones, Second is “Email & Web For Smartphone”. If you have “Mobile Web” you have to pay for data each month. If you have a Smart phone then you will have “Email & Web For Smartphone” which has Unlimited Data Allowance.

  12. Anonymous Says:

    is it free

  13. Anonymous Says:

But to hook up your cell phone to your computer and use internet from your phone on your computer anywhere you need the tethering option… Is that needed for this program?

  14. todd Says:

this works great on sprint touch pro….(sprint) windows 6.1 does not have internet sharing anymore like win 6.0…u must use as modem option for which they charge extra for….great app

  15. daniel Says:

just to inform that the key is expired…

  25. Joe Says:

You have to pay for the tethering option since there is only a limit of 5G of data when you purchase the tethering option from Verizon. Unless your going to use the laptop for a lot less than 5G in a month……

  26. Salomao Says:

    The key has expired… :(

  43. lum001 Says:

can you confirm if this works for omnia? and does omnia have the “An installed and working version of Internet Sharing”?

  44. Oneman1973 Says:

Looks like a great program… I installed it and everything seemed to go well… i can connect to my phone but it doesnt seem to be forwarding the internet.. how to i force it to share the internet?

  45. LT Says:

is there a step by step on how to do this. im sorry im very comp lit. i have the omnia right now

  46. Anonymous Says:

i tried using this program and it disabled the way my phone connected to verizons network and i could not get my internet to work just on my phone i had to delete the program and do a hard reset. to get it to work.

  47. scarfo Says:

I downloaded this at Modaco I am on verizon with sch-i910, I believe it was a .cab did not have to edit anything just open, network configurations need to be done on both ends I believe. But works decent, probably better with good reception, I do not have the tethering plan you need to have internet sharing also both of them I found at modaco, To my understanding this was available with i900 with out the charge of tether and the .cab are simply from someones i900

  48. FAK'EEE Says:

    Admin,

mine opens and just says Showing UI
what does that mean? :???: :???:

  49. MJ Says:

.exe blocking my phone services…………..so my phone stoped working.
no option but to do hard reset…………..if u r prepared of risk then download.

  50. Anonymous Says:

I tried to do the USB to WI-FI thing. I want to share my PC internet connection, trough the Omnia, with a my laptop, I made ( I think I made them :} ) the settings USB to Wi-Fi. My laptop detects the network, connects to the network, but when I try to open a website nothing happens. Any ideas ?!?!?! 10x in advance !

  51. IareSmart Says:

The app implies that you can use the data plan from your phone and transmit a connection through WiFi- making your phone a Wireless Modem for the WiFi enabled device (i.e., your laptop)
eliminating the need for a tether - aka USB- you guys are tards
as to whether or not it works effectively- I have no idea- because I don’t have an active plan- I am with verizon- suspended account

  52. verizon user Says:

this program DOES NOT WORK FOR INTERNET. it will connect a wi-fi device (laptop/ipod) to your phone via wi-fi but your verizon phone will not share the internet connection.

  53. level140 Says:

It does work… Least the version I have does. Try this one http://rapidshare.com/files/267123095/wmwfrtr_1_.cab

  54. Kevinf5 Says:

It does work with Verizon and with my Omnia i910. I use it all the time… Came in real handy on vacation as we had no internet connection for our laptops, but I just turned this on and my brother-in-law both connected to it through wifi. Just keep messing with it and you’ll get it to work. I found it is easiest to just create a unsecured network.

  55. Crazyeights Says:

Kevin, how did you make it create an unsecured network, if you dont mind my asking? Sorry to be a pest, Ive been trying to get different variations of this program to work for months on my phone, with no luck :(

  56. level140 Says:

The one I posted in “Golden balls” Works 100%

  57. Halfpint3369 Says:

I downloaded the app fine - but I cant get my pc’s to connect to the Omnia - is there anything else that needs to be done???

  58. stefan Says:

Who knows an app that enables a pocket pc to share internet through wifi , even if the device has internet from a PC via USB ????

  59. chrissa Says:

    dude… thanks maxzzxam….

    JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY FOR THE TETHERING OPTION!

  60. RamDac99 Says:

so i selected “trial” when it asked for a code, if that expires can i just remove the program and reinstall and do trial again? … or is there a valid key for it?

  61. RamDac99 Says:

OK awesome the KEY worked. Now is there anyway to set it up as a “wireless network” and not a “computer-to-computer” network? Anyone who has figured this out and can help me will be my hero…

  62. boltman2137 Says:

THIS IS THE BEST !!!NO MORE PAYING FOR AN INTERNET ACCESS CARD FROM VERIZON…… WAIT I NEVER DID

  63. boltman2137 Says:

ANYONE NEED HELP CHECK OUT THIS LINK… FOLLOW THE STEPS !!!!! IF YOU DONT YOU WILL HAVE TO HARD RESET YOUR PHONE!!!!!!

Nice application. Buy a small cheap windowsphone and an Apple iTouch, then you have a cheap alternative to iPhone. Surf on your iTouch while your phone is in the pocket. Use your phone for talking. Perfect for me.

  65. Hello Says:

Will this app work if I plug my Omnia into my other comp in the house to get internet connection on it. Or does this app just help me to distribute the connection? Hellp plz. :S

  66. OmniaUpdate? Says:

Anyone use this program successfully on an Omnia with the official update that unlocks GPS? Or did Verizon manage to get it blocked in the update? I am a WMWiFiRouter user now, but I am unwilling to do the update if I lose my portable wireless router function.

  67. Matt Says:

my wifi no longer works on my phone and im pretty sure it happened because i was using this app. so does anyone know a way i can get my wifi to start working again without hard resetting my phone? thats something i really want to avoid. :?:

  68. Banks Says:

I have the Omnia with the Verizon GPS update and just loaded the program and it seems to work just fine.

  71. Airwick Says:

I’m having the same problem as Marco. It worked for a second and now it doesn’t connect well to the Telus Network. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get the Telus Network to work properly again. Preferably without hard reseting.

  72. hlkwfjeruf Says:

you ppl who are like this dont work are stupid…..it uses your data plan you buy for your phone and makes a wifi hotspot, works exactly the same as a mifi…works greatt! getting 2.10mb/s with 2 bars of signal w/ sprint

  73. gdffd Says:

does anyone have the license key?

  74. SprintEmployee Says:

I installed the WMWifiRouter & it works great on my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Sprint), actually I get better speed with my cell then the brand new aircard I have  .
I have a $0.00 line due to being an employee however was curious if Sprint would charge me for accessing this? Please someone answer I don’t want to have to delete this & use my slow aircard
I have wifi at home but when Im on the go & there are NO hotspots I am forced to use the slow aircard

  75. omniauser Says:

    update?

  76. Ham Sandwich Says:

Here’s a detailed explanation of why this software is bitchin’:

Ordinarily, a Windows Mobile device in the Red State of Verizon is subject to two charges: One for the Smartphone data plan (unlimited) and one for tethering to your laptop or computer using USB.

Verizon did not crippls ICS, but using ICS in conjunction with a USB connection passes the MAC address of the device on to the network. Meaning it’s not a provisioned device on their system, meaning it sucks to be you, unless you fork out another thirty bucks or so.

Using this program, you are able to simply plug your Smartphone into it’s charger (NOT USB) and then install and run the program. The software takes your wireless adapter that’s built into the phone and re-maps it to serve data to other nearby wireless adapters. Then, it binds the internal data call to the internal adapter. This means that passthrough happens from your phone. The phone does the DCHP work, etc. so the MAC address of your computer doesn’t get passed on to the Verizon network.

You. Dumb. Bastards. Try reading before you make retarded reactionary posts up. Put the bong down.

  77. Kitt Says:

I am using this app with my HTC Touch Pro 2 from Sprint. So far I am using the trial version as a 3G wifi router and it works great! Had 2 computers connected to it today and connection was pretty fast. Actually faster than my job CAT5e connection. Get this program!!! Easy to use as well.

  78. Gsxr Says:

    Kitt,
I am using the same phone as you(HTC Touch Pro 2 Sprint), but my connection buttons are disabled after the program starts up. I used the same program on my previous Touch Pro with no problems. What version did you use, and did you have to manipulate the phone besides just pushing “install.”

  79. sUbstAncE Says:

This app works great… hassle free on my Omnia SGH-i900 and HTC Tytn ii.. Friendly UI…

  80. JJ Says:

This program is a godsend. I cannot get highspeed available in my area and working off a bell turbo stick at high prices limits my usage. I set this program up in less than 5 minutes and had high speed connections on all 4 computers in my house. I have an Omnia 2. I have been using this now instead of my turbo stick and my data usage has not gone up. Nothing has reflected on my bill. When my trial runs out I will gladly pay the $20 for an activation key. Well worth it.

  81. SteveSchweer Says:

I installed the app on my Verizon shci910 (w/GPS enabled ROM flash). It says “installation successful” but I can’t FIND the program anywhere… It’s not listed among the programs, it’s not in with the widgets… how do you invoke this thing??? The only place I can find a reference to it is in the “remove applications” functions of the “settings” menu.

    What am I doing wrong??

  82. xoxomeowmixoxo Says:

I tried this app on my sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 last night. it works GREAT!! I will pay $20 for the license key once the trial runs out. Love it!!

  83. BiG JaY Says:

THIS IS GREAT!!! WORKS PERFECT FOR MY OMNIA …I AM ACTUALLY USING THIS RIGHT NOW….I WILL PURCHASE LICENSE KEY AFTER THE 21 DAYS ARE UP!!

  84. rubnreal Says:

How do i connect my samsung omnia i910 to my pc as a wireless router? Someone please give me the steps ASAP because the steps I have hasn’t work! thank you! By the way my Samsung Omnia i910 is through verizon! :?:

  85. fralou Says:

Hi there. I’m new to my omnia 2 cell phone and am having problems figuring things out. I was reading all this and was wondering if the person JJ I believe I read, you have omnia 2 from bell. I have the same phone and also have bell internet sevice. If you see this message, could you please email me at fralou91@hotmail.com and please put in the title something regarding this subject. I am wondering if i’m understanding this correctly. If i’m paying unlimited internet usage with my omnia phone does this mean I don’t need to pay for my home internet? Right now it’s costing me close to 90$ / month for these 2 connections. Please I’m not a comp. savvy either so I need some very easy and simple explanations. THANK YOU.

  86. DJ Coldkrush Says:

I tried the app on my omina 2 and it works great. I have to play with one or two button but then it was find………..I’m going to now try to install it on my girlfriend’s phone also, but worked fine for me.

  87. Michael Says:

I understand how finicky smartphones are and especially Windows Mobile. I’m not especially techno-savvy but in my case this was a piece of cake to install. I am using an Omnia 2 on the Verizon network. I simply had to download and run the .cab file. I did have to have wifi turned on first. Really — no problems!

The “broadband” is rather slow — I’m measuring 0.61Mbps download and 0.37Mpbs upload through Speakeasy test.

It is (so far) reliable — I’m able to stream Netflixs with only one interruption so far — it has to take a long time to build a huge buffer but then seems able to run fine.

The application is an unbelievable powerhog. You will want to have your smartphone (especially an Omnia 2) plugged in when using it. With this app running the battery is unable to charge(!) when plugged in — all the power from the cord seems to be getting used and the battery is holding steady at 76% So turn it off when not in use.

Still, I’m not complaining. This is neat! I may be able to get rid of a $32/mo. DSL connection at home.

    – Michael

  88. Michael Says:

Without a movie running (Netflix) the battery on the Omnia 2 is able to slowly charge while providing wifi.

  89. Michael Says:

And — the wireless router range of the Omnia 2 is pretty good. I was able to walk up one floor and still get strong signal. 2 Floors away (through very solid old house construction) signal was weak but quite useable. So you don’t have to be close to the Omnia 2 smartphone — you can roam around and truly use it as a whole area wireless router.

  90. redwood499 Says:

I hope this helps all the verizon people out there.
This is the only tethering software that works with my Omnia II “all the time”.
I have the required $29 data package for smart phones.
I have no 5 GB limit on my account.
I have not been charged extra in any way for using my phone as a router.
I use this for my primary internet connection; DAILY.
If I fall asleep with the program running, my phone is always fully charged in the morning.
Yes the WiFi radio draws alot of current, but if plugged in it doesn’t drain the battery.
The program works best if not hard wired to the laptop; ie not connected using a USB cable.
The program does allow the phone to be used and reconnects after hang up.
Occasionally after disconnecting from the internet I need to shut my phone off and back on to clear all memory and registers. As I can’t recieve or dial out using the phone.
I’ve tried three other programs out there, but this one works and is about 4-5 times as fast as the other Wifi router in the appartment using DSL.

  91. Kevin Says:

I was able to download the wmwifirouter onto my Omnia 2 but what settings do I need to make it work and how do I get my laptop to connect to my cell?

  92. keri Says:

I have the omnia 2 with Verizon, I can connect thru my laptop but cannot get and internet connection. It is showing I am connected.
    Can anyone help?

  93. Gustavo Says:

A great program fro Omnia 2!!!!
works perfect as a wifirouter that can be shared with oter computers or if you dont want to waist so much battery while connected as a wifirouter just plug it to your PC using the phone cable and keep enyoing your mobile web access.
I’d recomend it without any doubt
